What Google Workspace for Education AI Looks Like Today

Google has integrated Gemini AI features across Workspace for Education in three primary tiers: features available to all Workspace users (including Education editions), features that require an Education Plus or Standard tier, and features that require a Gemini-specific add-on license. The features include AI-augmented Gmail drafting and summarization, AI-augmented Docs writing and editing, AI-augmented Sheets formula and analysis, AI-augmented Meet summarization and transcription, and AI-augmented Classroom features.

Each feature has administrative controls in the Google Workspace Admin console. Districts can enable, disable, or restrict each AI feature by organizational unit or group.
